Chairman of the Board
Stephen brings 40+ years of senior level management expertise to Pivot with a focus on leadership and corporate renewal across many industries, including healthcare.
Prior, Stephen was a partner at Deloitte where he led the firm’s Fiduciary Services Practice until he retir
ed to form Gray & Company in 2014.
Mr. Gray has led a distinguished career and is well known in the financial and legal communities throughout the U.S. Stephen began his career as an engineer and was a master’s level teaching fellow at Tufts University in mechanical engineering. Upon moving into management, Stephen has enjoyed decades of successful leadership and governance across industries.
Chief Executive Officer
Chris brings many years of healthcare experience to his role as CEO. Prior to Pivot, Chris served as the CEO of IntegraMed Fertility, the largest Fertility practice network in North America. Before, he was the Group President and Chief Operating Officer of Surgery Partners LLC wher
e he had significant operational and strategic responsibilities, holding lead responsibility for Surgery Partners ASC operations. Surgery Partners IPO’d on the NASDAG in the fall of 2015. From 1998-2007 Chris worked at HealthSouth Corporation in various operational roles, becoming SVP of Operations for the Outpatient Division. After successfully assisting in the sale of the Outpatient Division to Select Medical Corporation in May 2007, he served as Division President of the West Region overseeing 350+ locations. Beginning in 2009, Chris was Divisional President of the Network Division at Select Medical. During his tenure, he developed and grew a new Worker’s Compensation Specialty Network Product, enabling the practice to compete for greater market share in the $80B marketplace.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he was a John Motley Morehead Scholar. He earned his MBA in Finance from Georgia State University, graduating with honors. Chris is married to his wife Laura and they have five children ranging in ages from 12 to 21. Chris’ interests include spending time with family, golf, tennis and reading, and he and Laura love to travel.
David G. Baron, CPA, MS
Senior Vice President of Revenue Cycle
In this role, Dave handles all aspects of the revenue cycle, business processes and resource management. This includes critical processes like: provider credentialing, insurance verification, claims billing, cash application, insurance and patient collections, customer service, med
ical records, revenue cycle vendor management, consolidated month end processing as well as budget planning and management.
Dave comes to Pivot with deep healthcare experience and an understanding of the challenges facing multi-clinic businesses. He will assist as we develop new services and continue to enhance the quality of the work and services we offer clients.
Dave has an active CPA license and holds a BA from Calvin College and an MS from National Louis University.
President of Sales & Market Development
Daniel Bianco is the President of Sales and Market Development for Pivot Physical Therapy. In his role, Danny is responsible for Pivot’s growth strategy and overseeing a team of physician and community liaisons. Danny’s market knowledge coupled with his ability to foster and
maintain physician relationships has been instrumental to Pivot’s successful growth. Prior to joining Pivot, Danny was the President and CEO of Dynamic Physical Therapy. Under his leadership, Dynamic PT consistently ranked as one of the top two physical therapy providers in its market for close to 15 years. Danny sits on the Board of Trustees for Laurel Creek Country Club and is actively involved in Kids Chance of Delaware.
Hugh Carey II
Interim Chief Financial Officer
Hugh brings more than a decade of experience in healthcare helping companies manage complex issues.
Hugh is with Alvarez & Marsal’s Healthcare Industry Group and has worked in interim management and advisory roles across the health
care industry, including Behavioral Health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Pharmaceuticals.
General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer
Jonathan oversees all legal matters, and manages compliance issues, ensuring all Pivot business areas comply with regulatory requirements and the company, and all employees, are complying with internal policies and procedures.
Formerly, Jonathan was a partner, advisor, opera
ting company board member and former General Counsel at Redesign Health, LLC., a venture studio focused on launching businesses to improve the quality and democratize accessibility to modern healthcare solutions through innovative products, technologies and platforms.
Prior, Jonathan served for 10 years as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Dentsply Sirona (Nasdaq- X-Ray), the world’s largest manufacturer of dental equipment, technologies and consumable products. In this role Jonathan handled all corporate, compliance, regulatory commercial, HR, litigation, SEC, intellectual property and general legal matters.
Preceding Dentsply Sirona he was Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for National Medical Health Card Systems, Inc. – a national pharmacy benefit manager and was a corporate finance associate at a large New York City law firm.
Jonathan is a graduate of Dickinson College and holds a J.D. (graduating cum laude) from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was also the Articles and Notes Editor of the Law Review.

As President of Pivot Physical Therapy, Brad Hancock is responsible for all operational strategy, execution, and growth in its outpatient physical therapy locations. He is deeply committed to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and continuing education for Pivot’s clin
Brad is a native of the Raleigh, NC area. After receiving his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University, he went on to earn his Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy. While managing and operating physical therapy practices in Beaufort and Bluffton, SC and as Rehabilitation Director at Hampton Hospital in Hampton, SC he received specialty certification to include treatment and management of lumbar and sacral disorders and treatment of the elbow, wrist, and hand, treatments of balance and vestibular disorders as well as specialization in orthopedics, foot and ankle biomechanics, orthotic casting, and spine/neck treatments.
Brad Hancock returned to his native North Carolina and founded Activcare Physical Therapy in 2009. He successfully grew Activcare Physical Therapy to be a leader in the North Carolina outpatient physical therapy market, encompassing 10 locations with services to include orthopedics, sports medicine, vestibular rehabilitation, oncology rehabilitation, geriatric care, and pain management. He now serves as President for the Pivot Physical Therapy division of Pivot Health Solutions.
Vice President of Clinical Services
Brian Hoy is the Vice President of Clinical Services for Pivot Physical Therapy and oversees all aspects of the company’s clinical services programs. He serves as the director of the Clinical Excellence Team (CET) and is the Continuing Education board member for the CET. Bria
n also oversees all aspects of WebPT as director of the EMR team and is the MedBridge Education liaison for our company.
With over 19 years’ experience as a physical therapist, Brian specializes in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine with a focus on spine care. Brian has served as the Director of Spine Care for the last 12 years, a position that requires him to oversee all capacities of the facility’s spine program. This includes developing physical therapy spine treatment protocols and teaching the spine education program.
Brian graduated from Bowling Green State University/Medical College of Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy in 1995. He went on to achieve a manual therapy certification as a Certified Mulligan’s Practitioner, one of two in the state of Maryland and has extensive manual therapy continuing education training. Brian is certified in Functional Movement Screening and has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1995.
Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Lauren Kronthal joined Pivot Health Solutions in November 2018. She develops, leads and advances marketing strategy and programs — serves as an advisor, influencer and enabler for enhanced marketing initiatives — and ensures that an integrated and well-coordinated system-wide s
trategic marketing program leverages opportunities for all business entities and consumer channels. In addition to critical alignment and collaboration with expanding sales initiatives, Lauren leverages her skills as a highly collaborative professional with solid experience building programs with brand, revenue and reputational impact.
Lauren’s 20+ years of experience includes strategy, marketing and leadership positions as CMO for Evergreen Health and ConnectYourCare. Prior, Lauren led a number of strategic initiatives in IBM’s Global Business Services business where she developed an exceptional track record of creating new business offers and conceptualized and implemented integrated marketing programs incorporating digital and mobile campaigns – all that consistently exceeded planned objectives.
Lauren has a BA from George Washington University and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
Senior Director, Human Resources
Robert Pounders is the Senior Director of Human Resources for Pivot Health Solutions. Rob has been with Pivot since January 2017, and provides strategic direction to the Human Resources and Leadership teams. He has more than 17 years of experience in Human Resources. Prior to joini
ng Pivot he was the Director of Human Resources for Royal Farms. Rob serves as an active member in the Air National Guard.
Rob holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Baltimore and a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola University Maryland.
