T.J. Stites
TJ has had a life-long passion for exercise and understanding the science of human performance. He has participated in amateur sports for most of his life playing soccer, running, cycling and racing triathlons. His passion for exercise, combined with a strong desire to impact the lives of people around him, made physical therapy a natural career path. As a physical therapist, TJ enjoys helping patients achieve their goals and move beyond their current abilities. He is quick to point out, “the body is very good at healing itself” and “properly dosed exercise and manual therapy optimizes the body’s natural healing ability.”
He has specialized in Orthopedic and Manual physical therapy, completing his residency, fellowship, APTA orthopedic specialist certification as well as multiple sub-specialty certifications in Orthopedic and Manual physical therapy.
Having graduated from Norfolk’s Maury High School, TJ received his undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from Radford University. He earned his graduate degree in physical therapy from Old Dominion University and completed his Doctorate in Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy from the Ola Grimsby Institute.
Outside the office, TJ enjoys spending time with his family, running, cycling, coaching and watching his kids’ musical and sporting events.
