Teri Draper is a physical therapist at Pivot Physical Therapy in Glen Allen on West Broad Street. She joined the Pivot team in August 2017 shortly after earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Teri knew she wanted to work in outpatient since she was a student and sheI had 3 clinical internships in outpatient orthopedics as well as experience with manual therapy. Teri is currently a member of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) and is attempting to become certified in trigger point dry needling. In the future, she eventually would like to pursue courses in manual therapy and classes that would equip her with knowledge to not only sharpen her skills as a therapist but also allow her to improve her care for patients.
Being a physical therapist is a very rewarding career. Teri has the opportunity to help people, get to know them individually, and provide ways to get themselves better based on their lifestyle. She also has the pleasure to watch her patients progress as they work toward their goals. Teri’s goal as a physical therapist is to provide patients with proper exercises, techniques and tools to get themselves better. If something is not working for them, she will do her best to think of a new method or technique to help get them where they want to be functionally.
In her spare time, Teri loves to read, participate in sports (including kickball, softball, and ultimate Frisbee), hike, shop (for anything), and spend time with close friends and family. She also loves exploring new places or events with her identical twin sister.
