Physical Therapist, Clinic Director
Tanya Dickson joined Pivot Physical Therapy in 2016 as a physical therapist in the Berlin, MD clinic. In January 2017, Tanya assisted in opening a new clinic in Salisbury, MD as the clinical director. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinic in addition to treating patients and participating in marketing efforts. Tanya has experience in treating patients in various clinical settings, including acute care and outpatient. Tanya is a Vestibular Rehabilitation Certified therapist through the American Institute of Balance, effective in treatment of vertigo/BPPV, dizziness and balance deficits, as well as vestibular pathology. She is one of Pivot’s Eastern Shore regional Level 4 Advanced Work Rehabilitation Specialist, performing Functional Capacity Evaluations, Work Performance programs, and pre-employment screening. She is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) as well as a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT), offering skill in Dry Needling intervention for muscle spasms, trigger points, and scar tissue restrictions. She also specializes in the treatment of concussion, orthopedics, post-operative rehabilitation, and pediatrics. Tanya is also passionate about educating future therapists and is a Certified Clinical Instructor to various students including physical therapy, physical therapy assistance, exercise science and athletic training students.
Tanya received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Salisbury University in 2008. She then obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2011. She enjoys providing community services including educational seminars and health screenings and has conducted several community programs with Cheers, MAC, local businesses and local church communities.
Tanya currently resides in Salisbury, MD with her husband, Timothy Dickson, who is a Dean of Students at East Salisbury Elementary. They have two children, Natalie and Allison, and two golden retrievers. Tanya enjoys time with her family, being active and outdoors, reading and music.
