Stephanie Lawson


Physical Therapist, Clinic Director

Stephanie Lawson is a physical therapist and clinic director at the Fredericksburg Spotsylvania location. She has been with Pivot Physical Therapy since November 2017, when Physical Therapy of Central Virginia was acquired by Pivot. She was working with Physical Therapy of Central Virginia for over 2 years at the time of the acquisition. Prior to living in Fredericksburg, Stephanie was a physical therapist in sports medicine at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Gahanna, Ohio, and before that at Sheltering Arms outpatient clinic in Bon Air (Richmond, VA).

Stephanie earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) from Ohio University in June 2009, and her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in athletic training from the University of Toledo in May 2006. She became a certified athletic trainer (ATC) by the Board of Certification upon graduation in 2006. Stephanie fulfilled requirements to earn her sports physical therapy specialty certification (SCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) in 2015, and became certified in trigger point dry needling (CMTPT) by Myopain Seminars in June 2018.

Stephanie is an avid runner and enjoys working out as well. She is an active member of the Fredericksburg area Moms Run This Town/She Runs This Town group, and has completed several marathons and half marathons. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Kunle, who is the head track and field and cross country coach at the University of Mary Washington, and her son James.
