
Sara Ruhlman
Sara Ruhlman, PT, CLT joined Pivot Physical Therapy as the Clinic Director of the Roanoke-Towers clinic in December 2017. Sara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in 1994, and obtained her certification in lymphedema management from the Coast-to-Coast School of Lymphedema Management (LeDuc Method) in 1999. She has experience in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, lymphedema management, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, neurologic rehabilitation, aquatic therapy, and home health. She enjoys working with all patient populations, and is especially passionate about orthopedic and cancer rehabilitation. Sara is currently completing her post-professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Sara is grateful for the opportunity to serve in her community, as the current President of the Foundation for Rehab Equipment and Endowment (FREE Foundation). She has also volunteered as a guest lecturer at the Jefferson College of Health Sciences and was a course author for the Home Health section of the APTA’s “Advanced Competency in Home Health” certification program (Ethical Considerations for Physical Therapists Practicing in the Home Health Setting).
In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Scott, children Matthew, Zach and Emma, and their beloved golden retriever, Maddie. She loves being outdoors, hiking and bicycling in the Blue Ridge Mountains and attending her children’s soccer events.
