Sara Campbell

Sara joined the Pivot team in November 2020 as a full time physical therapist at the Raleigh- Wake Forest Rd location, where she transitioned to Clinical Director.  She is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist through the Ola Grimbsy Institute and applies a hand on approach when working with her patients. Sara is currently finishing her certification in Scientific Therapeutic Exercise Progressions through the Ola Grimbsy Institute, along with achieving her Dry Needling certification.

In 2012, Sara obtained her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation and a minor in psychology from Slippery Rock University.   Sara graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Campbell University in 2016 as part of their inaugural class. During her time at Campbell, she attended a medical mission trip to Honduras with an interdisciplinary team to provide services to those that do not have access to medical attention.

Following graduation, Sara worked in a heavy manual therapy outpatient clinic for 2 years, where she received extensive training and mentorship in treatment of orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and TMD conditions. She is skilled in using her hands for soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and manipulation; however, she also has experience in the use of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) and therapeutic cupping. Prior to joining Pivot, Sara was a travel physical therapist and worked in multiple skilled nursing facilities in order to become a more well rounded therapist.

Sara is an avid sports fan where she cheers for her home team the Pittsburgh Steelers and wears royal blue to cheer for Duke Basketball. She is an extrovert and loves spending time with family and friends, along with her two Siberian Huskies, exploring the Triangles restaurants and breweries, and being outdoors.
