Sandy Woods, PT, DPT, CSC, SMS, started working with Pivot Physical Therapy (formerly Professional SportsCare & Rehab) in 2007 as the Clinic Director of the Columbia, MD clinic location on Centre Park Drive before becoming Clinic Director at both Columbia locations in January of 2013. Sandy specializes in orthopedics, and has taken numerous continuing education courses advancing her knowledge in the field. She is currently a certified clinician in FMS (Functional Movement Screenings), SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment), and TDN (Trigger Point Dry Needling Level I&II). She uses these skills in her everyday workings with patients.
Her passion for physical therapy started while pursuing her Bachelors of Science in exercise and sport science at Penn State. She graduated in 1997, and went on to pursue an associate’s degree to become a physical therapy assistant at Central Penn College in Harrisburg. She obtained her associate’s in May of 2000, and soon thereafter started to pursue her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Neumann University while still working full time as a physical therapist assistant. She graduated with her MSPT in 2004. She then obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007, again from Neumann University.
