
Reina Chaperon
Reina Chaperon has been a staff physical therapist in Hampton, VA at our Magruder location since 2012. She is passionate about helping patients recover from traumatic brain injuries and is part of the Concussion Rehabilitation Specialist team. She has completed her Concussion Management Certification through Evidence in Motion and develops a comprehensive plan of care and management program to address post concussion and vestibular symptoms.
Reina has been practicing physical therapy since 2010. She began her career in Fayetteville, NC working for Breakthrough Physical Therapy where she specialized in treatment of orthopedic conditions related to the spine, upper and lower extremities, along with post-surgical recovery and joint replacement. She has received additional training on Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) techniques and vestibular rehabilitation. Reina frequently lectures on fall prevention and is the point contact for the clinic’s Functional Evaluation for Seniors. She is passionate about helping people regain function and fully participate in life without pain or limitation, and believes including manual therapy skills is essential for optimizing patients rehabilitation. Her favorite part of the day is making her patients laugh.
Reina received her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Florida in 2010. Prior to PT school, she served 5 years as an active duty finance officer in the United States Air Force. She completed her undergraduate work at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado with a BS degree in management.
Outside of work she enjoys jumping in the car and exploring any place new with her girls. She also enjoys running, reading and spending as much time outdoors as she can.
