Physical Therapist, Clinic Director
Michael Rios began his career as a Physical Therapist with our company in 2020. Michael has enjoyed a wide variety of patient populations throughout his first year as a clinician, including work related injuries, post-surgical and joint replacement, and low back pain. He is committed to furthering his evaluative and manual skills in a dynamic practice environment with a high level of continuing education. Michael recently completed Nxt Gen University’s course on the 2017 Treatment-Based Classification System for patients with Low Back Pain, The Movement Control Approach. Michael is also a proud member of the American Physical Therapy Association, an organization dedicated to practicing ethically and advocating for the rights of patients and healthcare professionals.
Michael studied for his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where he also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. During his time at USciences, Michael was a Building Supervisor at the university’s Athletic Recreation Center, treated patients at Mercy Hospital’s Pro-Bono Clinic, and experimented with new treatment for patients with chronic stroke. Michael graduated with his DPT in 2019, and became a Board-Certified Physical Therapist shortly thereafter. Prior to relocating to Northern Virginia and joining Pivot, Michael was practicing as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey in an outpatient orthopedic clinic.
In his free time, Michael enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, exploring America’s national parks and historical sites, and spending time with his loved ones, including his cat, Grom.
