Michael Augustine, MPT, DPT, M.ESS is a physical therapist in our Jacksonville clinic. He has been practicing physical therapy since 1999 as well as a Certified Athletic Trainer for 25 years. Michael received his Bachelor of Health Science from Lock Haven University in 1992, Master of Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Florida in 1996, and his Master and Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 1999 and 2003 respectively. Michael’s experiences have covered a wide range of settings including outpatient, inpatient / acute care, and skilled rehabilitation. Michael has worked as an instructor within Shenandoah University’s Entry Level Master Athletic Training program and served as a staff Athletic Trainer for the university’s men’s and women’s sports teams. Michael more recently served as the Program Director for Lackawanna College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program, being directly involved in startup, achieving accreditation, overseeing, and teaching within this professional program from 2011 to 2016.
Michael’s 20+ year experience covers a wide range of treatment areas starting with a heavy emphasis on sports medicine and orthopedics. He also has experience with cardiac care, conditioning and training, balance and fall prevention, neurological conditions and other areas of physical therapy. He still enjoys teaching and education of future professionals when opportunities arise. Michael resides locally with his wife and daughter who he enjoys spending his free time with.
