Physical Therapist

Melissa received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her Master’s in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. She was a Certified Athletic Trainer working with college athletes, children’s sports camps as well as a part-time trainer with a professional football team in Richmond in 1997.

Melissa has practiced in the Richmond area for over 25 years in both outpatient orthopedics and Home Health. With this work she has developed a love for treating older adults and helping them to remain active, safe, independent and living in their own homes as long as they feel comfortable.

In 2017 she became a certified LSVT-BIG clinician working to help individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. She is currently working to complete her American Institute of Balance (AIB) Certification in Vestibular rehabilitation.

She treats patients with kindness and respect and enjoys having patients and/or their family members return over the years. Melissa uses manual therapy, exercise and modalities in her treatments. She holds a Direct Access Certification and is available to evaluate and treat patients without a prescription from a physician.

Melissa and her husband Rob are active in their church and enjoy camping, spending time with family and attending UVA sporting events.
