Maria Bonci joined Pivot Physical Therapy as a staff Physical Therapist in July 2017. She went on to become a Clinic Director in Emmitsburg in October 2019. Maria treats a wide variety of orthopedic conditions, as well as populations in need of balance training. She has a special interest in treating runners with orthopedic conditions, or runners interested in improving performance. Maria has taken multiple continuing education courses to improve her ability to analyze running gait, and identify bodily impairments in relation to a running gait pattern. She has taken the Functional Movement Screening course to aid in functional evaluation of patients to further her commitment in improving functional mobility performance. She obtained her Orthopedic Certified Specialist certification and her Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 2020.

Maria went to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio for undergraduate college where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology. She attended the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she then earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
