Maddie joined Pivot Physical Therapy in 2018 and has been serving as a clinic director since 2021. She has a passion for helping people of all ages recover from orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, and surgeries as well as overcome chronic pain in order to achieve their personal goals and improve quality of life. Furthermore, she has a special interest in working with patients with Parkinson’s Disease. She is a certified LSVT BIG provider which is a program that is designed to improve function and optimize movement for people living with PD. She values providing personalized care utilizing a hands-on approach combining manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, and therapeutic neuroscience education.

Maddie earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University where she was a graduate of the Honors College. She then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a DPT student, she conducted research on the effects of auditory cues on gait mechanics in people with Parkinson’s Disease and the results were published in the Gait & Posture Journal. Maddie is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist indicating advanced expertise in the treatment of orthopedic conditions. She is a member of the APTA, the APTA Orthopedics Special Interest Group, and NC PTA. She is also an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and enjoys the opportunity to serve as a mentor for PT students.

When Maddie is not at work, she enjoys watching sports (especially ECU…go Pirates!), staying active, going on adventures with her husband and dog, and spending time with friends and family.
