Lauren E. Passerell joined Pivot Physical Therapy in August of 2015 as a physical therapist at the Durham, NC clinic. Lauren is originally from Ohio, where her clinical education experience included orthopedics, pediatrics, and acute care. Her passion lies in sports medicine and orthopedics. She enjoys working with athletes and patients of all ages with varying degrees of injuries to help them achieve their desired goals. She is certified in Dry Needling and Blood Flow Restriction training. She is also certified in McKenzie Part A for the lumbar spine as well as LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s patients.

Lauren completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Ohio. She attended Denison University in Granville, OH for her undergraduate degree, where she was a member of the women’s soccer team and participated in a number of community service projects. She was also admitted into the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) and received her Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training in May 2012. She successfully passed her boards and became a certified and licensed athletic trainer.  Lauren continued her education at Ohio University in Athens, OH where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May 2015. During her time at Ohio University, Lauren was a supervisor for intramural sports as well as a personal trainer, where she worked with clients of various ages to develop individualized workout programs.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking and fishing. She also is an avid runner and enjoys playing soccer and basketball.
