Lauren Karkane is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who joined the Great Bridge – Chesapeake, VA Pivot Clinic in 2020.  She is also a certified Athletic Trainer and enjoys working with a variety of sports medicine and orthopedic conditions.  Lauren hopes to continue her training to further develop her skills to provide high quality patient care to her community.  She is currently undergoing additional training for concussion rehabilitation and management. She also has a desire to improve her ability to evaluate and treat spinal dysfunction as well as perform running analyses in the future.

Lauren received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine from Quinnipiac University and continued her education at Old Dominion University where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.  While studying as an Athletic Trainer, she gained meaningful experiences working with several Division I football programs, men’s lacrosse, cross country, and track athletes.

In her free time, Lauren loves to travel and enjoys spending time outdoors, boating, hiking, and camping with friends, family, and her black lab named Buoy.
