Kristen Chavis is a Doctor of Physical Therapy currently working at our location in Apex, NC. Kristen joined the Apex, NC clinic this past August of 2018. She is a current member of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association). She is FMT Rock Blade, FMT Rock Tape Basic, and FMT Rock Tape Performance Certified. Kristen has past clinical experiences at various Pivot locations including the Raleigh clinic on Wake Forest Road, Morrisville, NC and the clinic in Raleigh on Six Forks Road where she experienced outpatient rehabilitation and aquatic therapy. Kristen also has clinic experiences from skilled nursing facilities, home health, and pediatric therapy.
For her undergraduate degree, Kristen started off at Campbell University where she was a member of the Campbell University Women’s Varsity Swim Team (August 2008- May 2010). Once transferring to the University of North Carolina, Kristen became a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Soroity and Carolina Indian Circle. While attending the University of North Carolina, Kristen was published in The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery’s “HEADS UP” newsletter in the spring of 2009. Kristen graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Kristen attended Campbell University for her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. She was a member of the student government association for her graduating class. While attending Campbell University she created and delivered a compelling personal presentation for the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Journal Club in 2016. Alongside passionately studying, Kristen also spent her time creating and facilitating research for improving pediatric acute care patient activity at the Robbie Page Memorial Playroom in Chapel Hill, NC.
In addition to being passionate about her patients, Kristen loves to stay active outside hiking, biking, and swimming. She continues to utilize her Swim Instructor Certification on her spare time to help people of all ages learn the joys of swimming and being safe around water. She also loves taking her passion of Physical Therapy all over the world and has participated in a Medical Mission Trip to Honduras. Kristen is always ready to talk but has a great ear for listening.
