Physical Therapist Assistant
Kitara McMoore started her career with Tidewater Physical Therapy in 2009 as a PT Tech. After a short stint coaching college basketball, she went on to earn her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Medical Careers Institute. Kitara is currently an Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant working at Pivot Physical Therapy’s Red Mill clinic since 2016.
Kitara graduated from Elon University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Sports Science with minors in Leisure Sports Management and Health/Physical Education. She worked as an assistant coach for college basketball at Francis Marion University where she was in charge of recruiting, one on one player development, and implemented the strength and conditioning program at FMU. While at East Carolina University, Kitara was the Director of Basketball Operations in charge of day to day basketball operations, coordinated team travel, managed basketball camps, focused on budget management, coordinated community service events and recruiting events, and was the student academics liaison.
Kitara has an Orthopedic Specialization for Physical Therapist Assistant. She is also a Certified Clinical Instructor and Level 1 Blood Flow Restriction Training Certified. Her other certifications include Functional Standards for the Optimal Aging Expert, HawkGrips Practitioner Level I and Level II, and Functional Movement Screen Level 1. She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
During her free time, Kitara loves weightlifting and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys many outdoor activities, traveling, crossing things off her bucket list, and going on wildlife conservation volunteer trips.
