Katie is a physical therapist at Pivot’s Knightdale location. She is passionate about creating personalized treatment sessions that empower her patients to meet their personal goals through a combination of manual therapy techniques and individually-crafted exercise programs. She believes strongly about addressing the root cause of musculoskeletal impairments, rather than just the symptoms.
Katie obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 2019. During PT school, she gained clinical experience working in outpatient orthopedic settings around the country while treating patients of all ages and diagnoses. In addition to her clinical experience, she also worked as a graduate research assistant in the VanDillen Musculoskeletal Research Laboratory, where she assisted with research focusing on the prevention and rehabilitation of low back pain.
Katie is originally from the Washington D.C. area and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Georgetown University in 2015. While at Georgetown, she was also a member of the Georgetown Women’s Lightweight Rowing Team and was a biomedical research intern at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Outside of the PT clinic, she is an avid reader and photographer, enjoys running and hiking, and loves spending time outdoors.
