Physical Therapist

Katie Long is a Physical Therapist at the Inwood, WV location who joined the team in 2018. As a retired collegiate volleyball player, Katie enjoys treating various athletic and orthopedic injuries with clinical interests involving the athletic hip, knee and foot/ankle as well as the overhead athlete. Katie is an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor, level I Dry Needling Certified and has completed numerous advanced manipulative, orthopedic, and sports specific training courses. She has been an APTA member since 2014 and is active in both the Virginia Chapter and Orthopedic Section. Katie is actively pursuing her Board Certification in Orthopedics through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She has previous work experience in outpatient physical therapy clinics with emphasis on utilization of manual therapy in the treatment of those with orthopedic conditions. Additionally, Katie is an Adjunct Professor at Shenandoah University in their Doctorate of Physical Therapy department.

Katie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Exercise Science from Bridgewater College in 2014, and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2017. Katie completed her post-doctoral residency in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy through the Virginia Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Institute (VOMPTI) in 2018.

Katie lives in Stephens City, VA with her husband, Will and their dog, Winston. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, running, playing volleyball and exploring new places. Her hobbies include travel, baking, eating and spending time with friends, family and dog.
