Physical Therapist

Karington Ketterer joined Pivot Physical Therapy as a physical therapist in June 2023 at the Rosslyn, VA location. Karington’s first experience with physical therapy was as a patient herself rehabbing from an ankle sprain sustained in a basketball game. She really enjoyed the time she spent with her therapist, the challenging exercises that she was instructed to perform, and being able to experience the process of going from minimal activity to full return to sport. Having a background as a college basketball player she has a special interest in sports, weightlifting, and physical fitness.

Karington grew up in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania and attended Slippery Rock University located in western PA for undergraduate and graduate school. There she played basketball for the women’s university team at a division II level, worked as a lab assistant for an exercise physiology course, and worked a year at the university’s recreational and fitness center. She also spent time in her last year of graduate school working part time as a rehabilitation aide at UPMC Jameson hospital working alongside occupational, speech, and physical therapists treating patients with varying conditions such as strokes, motor vehicle accidents, traumatic brain injuries, bilateral knee replacements, etc. She has been enjoying her transition to the northern Virginia / DC area enjoying going to national monuments, historical sites, trying out new places to eat, and exploring the area.
