Kandace Burtons


Physical Therapist

Kandace “Ace” joined Pivot Physical Therapy in February 2020.

Ace participates in many continuing education workshops and courses to increase her knowledge and skills in order to better serve her patients. She has certifications in Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Total Spinal Thrust Manipulation, Clinical Management of the Fitness Athlete, Endurance Athlete, and Functional Dry Needling. Ace also utilizes techniques such as kinesio taping, blood flow restriction training, and McConnel taping. She enjoys working with all levels and types of fitness with an extra love for runners. She started her career treating individuals post motor vehicle accidents and therefore has taken special interest in treating headaches, dizziness, and cervical dysfunctions.

Ace is a member of the APTA, Virginia Physical Therapy Association, and the orthopedic section of the APTA. She also works to provide care for underserved populations such as Haiti and Tanzania. To date, she has been to both locations twice offering free physical therapy services as well as coordinating additional medical services as necessary.

Ace received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Briar Cliff University and her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from University of Iowa.

Ace enjoys cooking and baking pies, running and strength training, stand up paddle boarding, and traveling the country with her husband.
