Kala K.

Physical Therapist, Assistant Clinic Manager

Kala joined the Laburnum Pivot location in January of 2020. She graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2019 from Shenandoah University and received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Nutrition Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech.

As a student physical therapist, she traveled to Kenya in 2018 to learn from the local physiotherapists and offer her services to patients at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi.

In 2023, she obtained her blood flow restriction certification that can help patients, especially post-op patients improve their strength without overloading their body.

She enjoys treating patients of any age with all types of impairments but has a passion for sports related injuries and post op patients with a goal of maximizing each patient’s function through exercise and manual techniques.

When she is not in clinic or traveling, Kala loves rooting for her Hokies and is an avid Boston sports fan. She also enjoys watching movies, hiking, going to the vast amount of breweries Richmond has to offer, and relaxing with her husband, daughter, and dog Dixon.
