Physical Therapist

Joshua Wilkes, PT, MSPT is a staff physical therapist in the Dallas, PA location. He began working for the company in March of 2015, and had two prior years’ experience in outpatient orthopedic. Josh also has six years of concurrent experience in Home Health Physical Therapy, working in this setting part time. He is a Licensed Direct Access therapist and a Certified Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association. He currently is an adjunct lab instructor at Misericordia University, and has assisted teaching labs for the following classes: Musculoskeletal III (Spine), Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, and Medical Conditions III. He has completed additional courses in manual therapy through the Duffy Rath system, obtained the level 1 SMFA certification through Functional Movement Systems, and Pain Neuroscience Education through the International Pain and Spine Institute. Josh has an interest in sports medicine and experience in sports rehabilitation, working regularly with athletes from Misericordia University and two local high schools. He is also passionate about helping patients with chronic pain conditions, and is currently conducting research in pain neuroscience with DPT students at Misericordia University.

Josh graduated from Misericordia University in 2012, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science and a Masters of Physical Therapy. Prior to attending college, Joshua served in US Army as a Combat Medic from 2002 – 2007 active duty, and 2007-2009 in the Pennsylvania National Guard. During his time in service, he was deployed to Iraq twice.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time with his two dogs, caring for his chickens, hunting, fishing, and riding motocross. He also enjoys mentoring PT students, and volunteers at the Misericordia Pro Bono Clinic.
