Joey Carson has worked for the Pivot Physical Therapy team since October 2018 following graduation from University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has experience with clinical rotations and previous employment in acute care, aquatics, and outpatient orthopedics. Joey has an interest in pursuing concussion management and plans to enroll in Orthopedic Clinical Residency class in 2020. Prior to graduate school Joey pursued his undergraduate degree in Biology at UMES.
His passion for physical therapy began at a young age following his brother’s traumatic brain injury in 2001. Upon witnessing his brother’s tremendous recovery with the help of different rehabilitation teams, the effect of physical therapists left a lasting impression.
Joey moved back to the Southern Maryland area in May 2018. During his free time he enjoys playing ice hockey, fishing, crabbing, hiking, and kayaking
