PT, MA, CPI, LSVT-Cert

Physical Therapist, Clinic Director

Having been a physical therapist for over 30 years, I have evolved like the field of therapy. Having trained at NYU/Rusk Institute, I stayed in NYC•for 20 years having owned and operated a private practice on the Upper Westside of Manhattan with my husband also an NYU trair::ied physical therapist participating with the faculty practices at Columbia, HSS, Mt. Sinai and NYU. We treated and trained many serious and semiprofessional runners for the NYC Marathon, having been on ABC TV several tim@s treating runners and professional dancers from Dance Theatre of Harlem and Broadway and musicians from Lincoln Center developing an expertise in both sports and arts medicine.

With this exposure to the sports and arts population, I was attracted to the world of Pilates gaining my certifications several times on mat and Pilates equipment and designed one of the first Pilates programs for Seniors and post rehabilitation patients oriented to improvement for gait, balance and posture. Being also certified in LSVT Big (gait program for Parkinson’s patients), I expanded this program to include exercise groups utilizing therapeutic Boxing with Pilates. As Joseph Pilates once said, “Change happens through movement, and movement heals.”

Trying to live my own life to the “core”, when not working or training for further Pilates
expertise, I can be found either on the trails of northern Delaware, walking my 4 little Shih Tzus or kayaking on the adjacent rivers in Delaware and Maryland; since as Joseph Pilates further said, “Physical Fitness is the first requisite of happiness”, and this happiness motivates me to better practice what I preach and teach.

May we all stay safe and well.
