Gwen is a physical therapist with over 25 years of experience in functional rehabilitative treatment with a broad background including acute care, orthopedic rehab, wound care, neurological treatment (falls prevention, stroke rehab, parkinson’s) as well as home health mobility and safety assessments. Gwen joined the Pivot Chesapeake Beach team in 2016 and has found it an honor serving the community. A compassionate and dedicated clinician, Gwen has spent her early Pivot years expanding her educational and clinical training in Selective Functional Movement Screening, Original Strength, and Vestibular Rehabilitation Certification. Understanding the importance of the diversification in clinical approaches, Gwen is currently working to expand her certification through FCE credentialing, Industrial Rehabilitation.
In the clinic, Gwen’s goal is to empower her patient’s through education. “When a patient enters our clinic, he/she will embark on a wellness journey attaining a level of knowledge and self – management regarding their diagnosis and potential for functional progression. In doing so, we hope to emphasize shared ownership in their functional progression. This is key to obtaining overall wellness.” Gwen has been described by her patients as a competent and compassionate therapist.
When not at Pivot, Gwen finds enjoyment in family time, spiritual wellness and participating in school and community-based activities.
