DJ is a full-time physical therapist at Pivot’s Knightdale location. He has clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics, aquatic therapy, and in skilled nursing facilities. DJ became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in 2018.
DJ obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Campbell University in 2019 and his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2013. While completing his DPT, DJ served as the Outreach Coordinator for Campbell’s CU-Move program where he assisted in collecting and distributing durable medical equipment to the local community at no cost. DJ also served on the board of Campbell’s physical therapy pro-bono clinic as the Mentorship Chair where he assisted students in developing clinical skills.
In his free time, DJ enjoys hanging out with his wife (Amy) and their two dogs (Rocky and Mila), checking out local breweries, and cheering for the Carolina Panthers. He regularly competes in the sport of powerlifting (squat, bench press and deadlift) through the United States Powerlifting federation. DJ has a special interest in coaching competitive and recreational strength athletes in addition to general fitness enthusiasts, in order to help them achieve their goals without pain.
