Courtney Kinser
Courtney Kinser is the Clinic Director and a Physical Therapist Assistant at our Columbia, MD (Athletic Club) clinic, where she has been treating patients since 2014. She treats all major conditions but has a special interest in lumbosacral disorders and the hip complex. Courtney provides treatment in the aquatic setting as well as the clinic to address areas of limitations, educate the patient, and improve overall function and quality of life. Courtney is certified in S.A.S.T.M., Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, which she uses along with KinesioTape to improve outcomes and efficacy of treatment when used to treat soft tissue dysfunction.
Growing up as an athlete and dancer, Courtney has always been interested in anatomy and movement. She pursued this interest, receiving a Bachelors of Science in kinesiology from the University of Maryland College Park in 2010. Courtney later attended Montgomery County Community College Takoma Park where she received her Associates in Applied Sciences for Physical Therapist Assistants. She became licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant through the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy in 2014.
When she is not in the clinic or the pool, Courtney loves to travel but especially enjoys hiking, and camping in her rooftop tent with her husband, son and on their two long haired dachshunds (Nimitz and Halsey). Her goal is to visit all of the National Parks. So far, her favorite has been Zion National Park in Utah where she hiked Angel’s Landing and The Narrows.
