Anne Marie Schneider
Anne Marie Schneider joined Pivot Physical Therapy in December 2019 bringing over 25 years of hand therapy experience. Anne Marie found her passion for hand therapy early in her career when working with a new hand surgeon. She treats patients of all ages and has even splinted small babies in the neonatal intensive care unit. She has lectured locally and nationally on hand therapy and rheumatology related to hand and occupational therapy. She has published articles on splinting and serial casting and has published several book chapters on wrist, hand and finger injuries in athletes. She has treated middle school through professional athletes with injuries returning them to the field or pool. She was a certified hand therapist from 1995-2010, letting it lapse while she was a Practice Manager for a thriving Physical Therapy Practice in the Triangle area. When the practice sold, after working as an art hospitality company as the Manager of Finance and HR and an interior designer as a Business Manager, she ultimately returned to her passion – hand therapy.
Anne Marie received her Occupational Therapy degree from Boston University’s Sargent College of Allied Health Professions. She has worked at several large medical centers and smaller private therapy settings in Connecticut and North Carolina.
When Anne Marie is not treating patients, she enjoys volunteering as a swim official and driver for Meals on Wheels, hiking with her Make a Wish friends, spending time at the beach, reading and decorating. She loves spending time with her family- husband Rob, 2 “almost grown” girls Alexandra and Julianne, and rescue dog Coal.
