Ami Shah is a Physical Therapist for Pivot Physical Therapy in Pasadena, MD. Before she joined Pivot Physical Therapy in January 2020, she was working as an outpatient physical therapist in many different locations in Maryland for 3 years. She is a licensed physical therapist with Doctorate of physical therapy with 8 years of experience, working in India and USA. She believes in evidence-based practice and incorporates latest techniques in treating physical therapy patients. She is a certified dry needling specialist and uses various techniques like kinesiotaping, and Maitland to improve mobility and reduce pain.
She graduated with Bachelors in Physical Therapy from MS University in 2009 and Masters of Physical Therapy from Rajiv Gandhi University in 2011 and worked at an academic hospital and university in India, treating patients with variety of neuro- muscular, sports-related injuries, orthopedic conditions, teaching physical therapy students and guiding them for research. She moved to the USA in 2015 and has been working with a diverse case load of patients with musculoskeletal condition and post-op rehabilitation. To further enhance her clinical skills, she pursued her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University, Pennsylvania and graduated in 2019.
Outside work she likes to spend quality time with family and enjoys traveling around places and learning about different cultures.
