Pivot Physical Therapy

Rachel Johansen

Rachel Johansen, PT, DPT, AIB-VR

Clinical Director, Physical Therapist

Rachel Johansen joined the Pivot Physical Therapy team in January 2017 as clinic director and physical therapist at the Foxhall Square clinic in Washington DC. Rachel enjoys working with patients involved in sports but is very passionate about providing care for the aging population as well. She is advancing in pelvic floor rehabilitation training and welcomes patients with issues ranging from incontinence to chronic pelvic pain. She is currently pursuing courses to become an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and regularly participates in continuing education courses with an emphasis on manual therapy.

Rachel started her physical therapy career at a private outpatient clinic in Albuquerque, NM seeing a variety of orthopedic patients as well as treating men and women with a range of pelvic floor dysfunctions.  Rachel also enjoyed mentoring and supervising physical therapy students in the clinic as well as providing care to homeless men at the Albuquerque Opportunity Center and at a student run pro bono clinic.

Rachel attended Trinity University receiving her B.S. in biology in 2009. While playing for the university’s women’s soccer team, she tore her ACL and finally found her passion for physical therapy.  She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of New Mexico in 2014. She continues to enjoy playing soccer, traveling around the world, mountain biking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
