Nate Kauk, PT, DPT, COMT, CSCS

Clinic Director, Physical Therapist

Nathan Kauk is the clinic director and physical therapist at Pivot Physical Therapy's Duram location. Nate has practiced in outpatient orthopedic settings in Raleigh and Durham for more than 10 years.  He enjoys treating injuries related to running, cycling, and swimming and treating a variety of orthopedic and sports medicine conditions. Nate utilizes manual and therapeutic exercise techniques in working with both surgical and non-operative musculoskeletal injuries of the spine, shoulder, and lower extremity.  He also enjoys performing functional movement assessments to assist in determining return to sport readiness for athletes following knee surgery.

In 2006, Nate became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In 2010, he became recognized as a Maitland Australian Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). The Maitland Approach is a world-renowned, highly effective, gentle approach to the management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions. As of this time, Nate is one of less than one percent of physical therapists practicing in the U.S. and one of 50 therapists in North Carolina with this distinction.  He is also certified as a Functional Dry Needling Practitioner.  Nate enjoys utilizing this innovative intervention as a compliment to his manual techniques, exercise instruction, and movement retraining.

Nate received his B.S. in Exercise Science from Dordt College in Iowa in 2004 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Iowa in 2006.
