Pivot Physical Therapy

Courtney Kinser

Courtney Coates Kinser, PTA

Physical Therapy Assistant

Courtney Kinser is a physical therapist assistant at Pivot Physical Therapy’s Columbia clinic at the Columbia Athletic Club. She has worked here since December 2014.  Courtney’s passion and therapy techniques use a combination of aquatic therapy and land-based treatment.  Courtney is certified in S.A.S.T.M., Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization used to improve outcomes and efficacy of treatment when used to treat soft tissue dysfunction.

Courtney received her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland (Go Terps!) in 2010. Following graduation, she worked as a personal training assistant director and physical therapy aide before deciding to pursue physical therapy further.  She earned her Associates in Applied Sciences from Montgomery College in 2014, where she graduated at the top of her class in the PTA program.  As a student, Courtney completed her final internship at Officer Candidate School at Marine Corps Base, Quantico where she worked with active duty military personnel.

Courtney’s experiences as a student, athlete, and dancer led her to treat in a patient-oriented manner where the patient’s treatment goals are central to treatment.   When Courtney is not in the clinic or pool, she enjoys cheering on the Orioles, Redskins, and Caps.
